Our "pool" is quite unconventional – it's actually a custom-built concrete pond. Filled with spring water sourced directly from our Artesian Well, it sets us apart as one of the few waterparks in the nation to offer this unique swimming experience. Our concrete pond is known for its exceptional water quality cleanliness and stands out as a distinctive feature of our park.

History of Water Parks & Pioneer

As theme parks were on the rise in the in the 50's and 60's, an entrepreneur named George Millay opened the first Sea World in the United States in 1964 in San Diego. Intrigued by the initial designs of water slides, Millay went on to form the first official water park located in Orlando, Florida in the year 1977.

Pioneer Waterland originated in 1970 as the exclusive swimming spot "Pioneer Lake," featuring three ponds,

one of which is our Spring Artesian Well-fed "concrete pool" pond.

In 1985, it transitioned to a public park and campground, introducing attractions like the speedslide, spiraling waterslides, and paddle boats.

Throughout its nearly 40 years of operation, Pioneer Waterland & Dry Fun Park has continuously expanded and upgraded to offer an exceptional family-friendly entertainment experience recognized across Ohio and beyond!
