History of Water Parks & Pioneer
Pioneer Waterland reopened in late May of 2016 under new ownership, beginning a renewed chapter for a longtime family favorite. After years of limited maintenance, a group of seven local business owners came together with a shared mission: to restore the park to the fun, welcoming destination it was known for in its prime.
Since reopening, the park has undergone major renovations across its water attractions and amenities. The deep end of the 2.5-million-gallon spring-fed pool has returned, popular speed slides have been fully refurbished for a smoother and faster ride, and the Lazy River and surrounding areas have been refreshed.
New additions such as private cabanas, swimming lessons, and upgraded guest areas enhance the overall experience, while bright new paint and murals bring fresh energy to the park. Today, Pioneer Waterland continues its tradition of summer fun—welcoming families back to create new memories while honoring the park’s rich history.
